Finished biochem. VIVA. I did TERRIBLY. haha. but doesnt matter.
never hoped to get distinction also. Just not my thing i suppose. But
the thing is, things that i should know i didnt know. which like kinda
make me disappointed with myself. But at least it's over, for good.
Qualifying for distinction viva.. the significance is that I can know i
have passed, and it's over 75%. which is kinda unexpected.
LOL. a highlight on how terrible i did.
first
they started with structure of Lactose. Lactose. I don't know what came
to me and the first thing i said is that it's a ketohexose. WTF? That's
FRUCTOSE! Then "tell me the sources of Lactose". "Milk". Any other
sources? damn i dont know any other sources.. die. haha. Then onwards i
know it's just a waste of time.. cannot answer basic questions no need
to viva anymore la..
Next it's Compartmentalization. They asked
the importance of compartmentalization. And the examples of reactions
occuring in different organelles. And i don't know why i sendiri cari
pasal go say Urea cycle. urea cycle still ok. first enzyme i go mention
CPS I. They ask back why I. then i say there's another one. CPS III.
then ullas kammath face change. haha. I still dunno. they continue
asking.. CPS III where is it used? i said pyrimidine synthesis. Then
they asked where did i get that. I said lecture. UK's face changed even
more. that's really a classic moment man.. then i realized there's no
III, there's CPS II. really comedic. COMEDIC indeed.
lastly. Diabetes mellitus. that one went okay i guess.
Then
they asked have i heard about the name Sanger. Nope. no idea.. turns
out he's the one who determined the primary structure of insulin. yeah,
like I'd know that. Bah. distinction viva. Never wanted distinctions
lar. if i wanted i would've prepared for it since like what, last
year??
But at least it's an experience. A funny one nonetheless, and also extremely embarassing..
